Each year, as we gather for our Maundy Thursday service and recall Jesus’ humble act of washing his disciples’ feet, we sponsor a donation drive to bless feet in a practical way. It’s our way of “reimagining footwashing” as we seek to be “people blessing people!” This year, we will collect packages of new socks (in children and youth sizes) to be distributed through our summer backpack program. Please bring all donations to the church for our Maundy Thursday (March 28) worship service. (We will also collect any remaining socks through Easter Sunday.) For more information, please contact Pastor Candy.
Garden Team: 2024 Season Begins Soon!
The 2024 growing season for our Wesley Community Garden will soon be underway! Our Garden Team will meet on Wednesday March 6 at 6:30 PM in the church library. All are welcome to attend, even if you’ve never participated in our community garden ministry before. For more information, please contact Christine Bell, our Community Garden Coordinator.
Ash Wednesday
Join us on Wednesday February 14 for our annual observance of Ash Wednesday, the first day of the holy season of Lent.
- 12:00 PM: Service of Palm Burning (outside front doors) – If you saved your palms from last year’s celebration of Palm Sunday, you are welcome to bring them to the service.
- 7:30 PM: Ash Wednesday Blended Worship (sanctuary)
The church labyrinth will also be open for prayerful walking on Ash Wednesday from 12:30 PM to 7:30 PM.

“Faith Foundations” Program for Adults
In our United Methodist tradition, our confirmation program allows young people to discover more about their faith and make their own commitment as followers of Jesus Christ and full members of the church. Yet while this program typically focuses on the spiritual development of youth, we’ve often had adults in our church show interest in this kind of spiritual development. This year, we’re exploring the option of a Faith Foundations program (what we’ve been calling a “reverse confirmation” program) designed specifically for adults.
Want to learn more? Join us for an info session on Sunday February 4 after worship (11:30 AM) in the church library. Contact Pastor Candy for more details.
Winter Picnic – Rescheduled!
We’ve done Christmas in July… so why not summer in January? Join us for a summery indoor picnic, now rescheduled for Sunday January 21 after worship, sponsored by the Wesley Men’s Group. The men’s group will provide hot dogs, hamburgers, and beverages. Please bring a potluck side dish or dessert to complete our out-of-season meal! Have a special baked bean recipe? Our picnic will also include a baked bean cookoff and tasting! Also, we invite you to bring lawn games (ladder toss, corn hole, and more) — we’ll set these games up throughout the church (and may even organize some competitions, too!). For more information, please contact Rich Chambers. |
