We’re once again celebrating the “big game” by holding our own Souperbowl! Between now and Sunday, February 13, please bring cans of soup (as well as canned pasta, boxes of mac-and-cheese, and other non-perishables) to church and place them on the Souperbowl table. All donations will benefit the New Bethany Food Pantry. |
Lenten Study Leaders
This Lent, we’ll be joining with churches throughout the North District for this year’s district-wide Bible study, “Fathers and Daughters.” The study will include video teaching (featuring some of our North District pastors) and small group discussions.
District Superintendent Steve Morton writes: “Admittedly, father-daughter relationships are among the least developed stories in the biblical narrative, with daughters often isolated as the most absent member of the family, or overwhelmed (even victimized) within a largely patriarchal culture. Our study does not look for any “common theme” within these stories, but rather aims to familiarize ourselves with various accounts of father-daughter narratives: to learn, to be challenged, perhaps to enjoy! And within the dialogue among ourselves, no doubt to reveal some of our own family dynamics which play a role in our Christian discipleship today.”
If you would like to serve as a small group study leader, whether in person or via Zoom, please contact Pastor Steph via email: pastorsteph@wesleychurch.com.
Clothed in Love: Undies for Easter
Clothed in Love: Undies for Easter
Did you know each inmate arriving into the Philadelphia Prison System is given ONLY ONE PAIR OF UNDERWEAR?
Can you imagine living with only one pair of underwear?
If you would like to help change this, our Eastern PA Conference has set up a new, online Undies for Easter Gift Registry on Amazon.com. The preceding link will ensure the correct items are purchased.
Note: All purchases must be made online via Amazon before Palm Sunday, April 10, 2022. Select “EPAUMC’s Prison Ministry Gift Registry Address” for shipping. Contact the Rev. Marilyn Schneider, of the EPA UMC Prison Ministries & Restorative Justice Team, at prisonministries@epaumc.org with any questions or concerns.
Note: all packages must be sent directly to the conference office — we will not be collecting these items at the church.

Catching Up with Pastor Candy
This week, it was my joy to spend time with Pastor Steph, our new Pastor of Congregational Care! In her role at Wesley, Pastor Steph will be focusing on the areas of pastoral care, adult education and discipleship, and weekly worship. I’m thrilled to welcome her to our staff team, and can’t wait for all of you to build strong connections with her.
Pet Food Donations
Wesley Church is joining in the Betty White Challenge! In honor of the passing of Betty White and what would have been her 100th birthday, we will be taking up a collection of pet food, litter, treats, and toys to recognize her love for animals. Donations are being accepted this Sunday, January 16, please leave them in the box in the Atrium. |
