“Giving Tuesday” is an annual day of widespread generosity that falls on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Established in response to the more commercialized post-Thanksgiving events (such as “Black Friday” and “Cyber Monday”), Giving Tuesday invites us to use our resources charitably, to support programs and causes that are most important to us, and to invest in the good work that is happening in our local communities. We encourage you to participate in Giving Tuesday this year!

We are called to the work of ministry… and often, ministry comes with a cost. Your donations support the programming, staffing, and day-to-day expenses that make ministry happen. Everything we do is made possible through your gifts, and none of it would be possible without your gifts. Contribute to our capital campaign!

Through our “That’s So ’90s” capital campaign, we are seeking to raise $705,000 over the next three years to replace our church’s roof and HVAC systems, which were installed back in the ’90s and have now reached the end of their 30-year lifespans. Support our community partners!

The work of ministry doesn’t happen in a vacuum. We engage with community partners and resource organizations — some of which were birthed in our own church! — to do the work of ministry. Visit our community partners page to learn more about these organizations, and consider supporting them with a Giving Tuesday gift. 

Explore other forms of giving…

There are many ways to give to the church! We partner with the Mid-Atlantic Faith Foundation to process donations in various forms. Have you reached the age for required minimum distributions from an IRA? Have your financial institution forward those distribution funds directly to the church! You’ll make a difference… and experience a tax benefit too. Do you have shares of stock that are just sitting in your portfolio? Contact us to make a gift of appreciated stock through the Mid-Atlantic Faith Foundation — again, with a tax benefit to you! Write a check (payable to “Wesley Church”) and mail it to us at 2540 Center St., Bethlehem PA 18017. Use the memo line to designate the appropriate fund or project for your gift. 

Come help prepare Wesley Church for the Christmas season! Willing hands are needed for decorating.

• Friday November 28, 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM: Help us pull decorations out of storage. (Some heavy lifting involved for those who are able!)
• Saturday November 29, 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM: Decorate the Sanctuary and Atrium. (Pizza and beverages provided for volunteers!)

You do not have to stay the whole time on either day. Any help is greatly appreciated, as there is plenty to do. To volunteer, please contact Debbie Ace.
