Dr. Don C. Follmer
Dr. Don C. Follmer, 96 of Bethlehem passed away on November 23, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem. He was the husband of Muriel (Smith) Follmer for 51 years until her passing on February 27, 2004. Don was born in Berwick, PA on April 6, 1927 son of the late Joseph Roland and Edna (Dodson) Follmer. He was a long time member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Bethlehem where he sang in the Choir.
Viewing & Funeral Service: Thursday November 30, 2023, viewing 12noon to 1PM followed by the Funeral Service at 1 PM all at Wesley United Methodist Church 2540 Center Street Bethlehem. Burial to follow in Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery.

Christmas Decorating at Wesley Church
‘Tis the season! Before we know it, it will be time to decorate our church for the Advent and Christmas season. Many hands make this festive job easier and more enjoyable! This year, decorating sessions will take place on:
- Friday November 24, 2 – 6 PM
- Saturday November 25, 11 AM – 3 PM

Community Garden Work Day
We’ve had a successful growing season in our community garden, donating over 750 pounds of fresh produce to the New Bethany Food Pantry. Thank you for your hard work during the 2023 growing season!
Now it’s time to prepare our garden for the upcoming winter months. Join us for a Garden Cleanup Day on Sunday November 12, 12:30-3 PM. During the cleanup day, we will pull old vegetable plants, cover the garden beds with cardboard, and try our best to get rid of some larger weeds. Gardening gloves are recommended! Thanksgiving Collection Drive
Give thanks by giving back! Many families in our community are struggling. Mammy’s Angels offers Thanksgiving dinner baskets to families who are struggling financially or emotionally, dealing with homelesses, recovering from illness / cancer treatments, or navigating a disability. You can help by donating any of the following items:
- Canned vegetables
- Gravy
- Boxed mashed potatoes
- Mac & cheese
- Rice
- Canned yams
- Dessert box mixes
- Cranberry sauce
- Stuffing mix
- Applesauce
- Turkeys or hams
- Grocery story gift cards (to purchase remaining items)
Donated items are due by Thursday November 16. Please label your donations for “Thanksgiving meals.” Your generosity will make a difference in the lives of others!
Luminaria Night
The 26th Annual Luminaria Night will take place on Saturday December 9. Luminaria Night is a beautiful and powerful experience, as homes and businesses in our community line the streets with luminaria – white paper bags with lit candles. We invite you to join us at 4:00 PM as we set out our church’s luminaria and join in this community-wide experience. Together, let’s illuminate our community and make a real difference!
