As part of our “Year of the Table,” we invite you to join us after worship on Sunday March 19 for a special St. Patrick’s Day Fellowship Hour! Enjoy green baked goods and fruit, delicious fair-trade coffee, Lucky Charms cocoa, and more! To volunteer to provide treats for this (or any) fellowship hour, please contact the church office.
This week, I had the opportunity to catch up with our church staff for one of our staff meetings. During our gathering, we continued our conversation about nurturing a culture of appreciation here at Wesley. We are so grateful for all the ways that the people of our church offer themselves in service. We appreciate your efforts!
On Friday April 7 at 1:00 PM (after the Good Friday worship service), you are invited to come the Fellowship Hall to participate in an artistic activity — painting a 3-D wooden Easter egg! There is no cost for this guided art experience, but donations will be accepted to benefit the Backpack program. All ages welcome, and all supplies provided!
On Saturday March 11 from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM, stop by the Wesley Fellowship Hall for the Spring Fling! This event includes a variety of vendor tables as well as yard sale items. At 1:00 PM, there will be an egg hunt for children ages 1-13 (no registration required). We’ll also be collecting Easter basket items (baskets, candy, grass, fillers, small toys, stuffed animals) and Easter dinner items (canned vegetables, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and gravy) for local families. For more information, please contact Debbie Ace.
Plarn is plastic upcycled yarn made from plastic shopping bags. Members of Wesley’s Plarning Team use this plarn to create lightweight waterproof sleeping mats for individuals in our community who may sleep outdoors and be exposed to the elements. If you’d like to learn how to make plarn or weave sleeping mats, bring a pair of scissors or a large crochet hook (preferably size S) and join us in the atrium after worship this Sunday, February 19.
