Church Work Day — Tools and Towing Needed!
Our Trustees need your help to get our church ready for Easter. Easter is a time when we have many visitors walk through our doors, and we want our church building and property to look its best! Volunteers are needed for several indoor and outdoor projects. If you plan to volunteer for an outdoor/landscaping project, please bring any garden tools or gloves that you might have. If you have a vehicle with towing capacity that can help transport the chipper to the church, please contact Rich Chambers.
The Work Day will take place on Sunday April 2 after our egg hunt and brunch.
Easter Selfies
Between Easter services this Sunday, stop by our photo station in the atrium to take some Easter selfies with your family or church family! Props are provided — just bring a camera. Planning to post your pic on social media? Use our hashtag!

Maundy Thursday Collection Drive for Victory House
Traditionally, worship services on Maundy Thursday (the Thursday before Easter, this year on April 6) include a ritual of footwashing. This ritual recalls the moment at the Last Supper when Jesus knelt before his disciples and humbly washed their feet. Here at Wesley Church, we seek to reimagine the act of footwashing — an act that, in Jesus’ day, met a basic and tangible need. Each year, we sponsor a Maundy Thursday collection drive that enables us to meet needs and bless feet in our community.
This year, our collection drive will benefit the work of Victory House, an organization in Bethlehem that offers resources and transitional housing to men in our community who lack adequate and stable shelter. We will collect shower shoes to distribute to the guests at the Victory House shelter. We welcome your donations of men’s waterproof shower shoes (size large or 10/11). Help us meet our goal of collecting 80 pairs of shoes! Visit our Wish List to get shopping ideas, or to purchase a pair to be shipped directly to the church. All donations are due by Easter Sunday, April 9. Thank you for your generosity!
Good Friday April 7 at 12:00 Noon
Join us on Good Friday (April 7) at 12:00 noon for quiet and contemplative worship. Through scripture, story, and song, we will reflect on the “I Am Sayings” of Jesus from the Gospel of John. After worship, linger in the atrium and enjoy a traditional “hot cross bun.”
Mark 8:29
29 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Messiah.”
NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION
At Sunday School, Fun Decorated Houses with a Message
In Sunday School, 2nd and 3rd graders read Jesus’ parable of the Wise Man who built his house on the rock and the Foolish Man who built his house on the sand.
Their amazing teacher, Ms. Terry, built some houses for the kids to decorate and keep! As we finished our lesson, we listened to the song about the parable and learned a new verse;
The prayers went up and the blessings came down!
The prayers went up and the blessings came down!
The prayers went up and the blessings came down!
And the house on the rock stood fast!
Thank you Ms. Terry, for teaching the kids who we are!
