Youth Group Pool Party

Calling all youth! Join us for our next Youth Group gathering: a pool party! 

Sunday August 16
1:00 – 3:30 PM
Northwest Swim Club

The cost is $5 per swimmer. (If cost is a concern, please reach out. Cost is never a barrier to participating in a youth group event!) We will provide hot dogs, rolls, ketchup, and mustard, so bring a snack or drink to share! Please have your parent/guardian drop you off and pick you up at the pool. For more information, or to RSVP, please contact Brian Graybeal, our Minister to Youth.

Luminaria Night

New Bethany’s 28th annual Luminaria Night will take place on Saturday December 13. Please help us light the darkness for our neighbors in need by setting up our church’s luminaria as part of this community-wide event! If you have any questions or would like to volunteer with luminaria setup, please contact Deb Silliman, our Director of Christian Education.

Holiday Closing

The church office will closed on Monday October 13 in observance of the Indigenous Peoples’ Day / Columbus Day holiday. We will resume our regular office hours on Tuesday October 14. 

Giving Tree Donations Due

This month, the donation items for our Year-Round Giving Tree will benefit the Bethlehem Emergency Shelter. Through demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ, they provide shelter and a caring network of support to restore hope to the City of Bethlehem. Requested items include cases of water, feminine products, Dole fruit bowls, and winter hats, gloves, and scarves. All items are due by Sunday November 9. For more information, please contact Debbie Ace.  

From the Church Library…

There are a lot of new books for children and adults in the Church Library this fall. Come in and look them over! Here’s one that Library Team member Wendy Arbushites enjoyed:

Good Soil, by Jeff Chu, caught my attention by its subtitle, “The Education of an Accidental Farmhand.” How does one become an accidental farmhand? I wondered. The book is filled with chapters relating to what is going on at the Farminary, a working farm at Princeton’s Theological Seminary, where Chu worked while he was a student. Each chapter takes us on a little trip which shares lessons that can be learned from working the land. If you are someone who loves gardening, nature, or food, I highly recommend this book! It’s as beautiful as the art on the cover.

Sunday School Begins

It’s time for another year of Sunday School! Sunday School classes for children and youth will resume on Sunday September 14. Classes will meet in the Fellowship Hall at 9:00 AM and move to their classrooms at 9:15 AM. We’ll nourish our bodies at the pancake breakfast and then nourish our faith in Sunday School! 

Families, please use our online registration to register your child(ren) as soon as possible. Sunday School classes are available for children and youth from age four through high school.
