Backpack Day: August 21, 2021
We are in the process of planning the 2021 backpack festival. Please check back for additional details.
Since 2003, Wesley Church has distributed more than 12,000 backpacks filled with supplies for elementary school-aged children. We hold a one-day event the third Saturday each August, where we distributed the backpacks and new socks and underwear. This page will let you know how you can help and includes details on this year’s event.
It’s time to celebrate Cinco de Mayo! On Sunday, May 2 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, the backpack team is making Walking Taco kits to pick up and enjoy. Each kit will include enough for two walking tacos: beef, chopped tomatoes, chopped lettuce, cheese, salsa, and sour cream. Cost is to be determined. Check back soon! Proceeds benefit the backpack program.

How Can You Help?
The backpack team is in need of your support. The following list includes how you can be a part of this year’s event.
Donations of Socks & Underwear
We are in need of lots of socks and underwear. The team has set up an Amazon wish list, where you can have the items shipped right to one of the coordinators. Click here to access what is needed. (FYI, we need more underwear than socks at this time).
Volunteer Day of Event
As we get closer to the event, we will include a signup for volunteers to help greet our guests and help them with the supplies they need.
