Backpack Day: August 15, 2020
Guests will remain in their cars to register, drive to a second location on church property for backpacks and another location for socks and underwear. We will provide guests with cold bottled water, so don’t hesitate to ask, if you need.
If you don’t have a car and are coming by bus, we can accommodate you too! Look for signs on church property or see a volunteer for where you can register and receive the items you need.
Please note that masks are required of anyone speaking to the volunteers for their safety as well as your own. If you forget yours, please let us know and we will provide you with one.
Most importantly, we want you to know, not only does Wesley Church love you and your children, but Jesus loves you too. We understand that times are difficult and we want to help you in a small way, with a gift of school supplies and new socks & underwear (while supplies last). We are People Blessing People at Wesley Church, and we hope you feel blessed during your time with us.
How Can You Help?
The backpack team is in need of your support. The following list includes how you can be a part of this year’s event.
Donations of Socks & Underwear
We are in need of lots of socks and underwear. The team has set up an Amazon wish list, where you can have the items shipped right to one of the coordinators. Click here to access what is needed. (FYI, we need more underwear than socks at this time).
Volunteer Day of Event
The event will be completely outdoors, so volunteers will need to be able to be outside (we will do our best to provide pop-up tents to provide shade in various locations and there will be a very limited number of indoor positions). The event will be from 8 AM – Noon this year.
To register to volunteer the day of the event, please click here.
**PLEASE NOTE: breaks will be given to volunteers, but we will be unable to provide food for the volunteers. We ask that volunteers bring their own food. Water will be provided to volunteers as well as guests.
