Indigenous people—both visitors and residents—have been part of Bethlehem since its founding. On this walking tour you will learn about the deep, persistent, and complex relationships that Lenape, Mohicans, and Haudenosaunee people formed with the Moravians at Bethlehem. We will visit the last surviving home from Nain (a nearby Indigenous village), which was moved to Bethlehem in 1765. Please join us for a remarkable and enlightening story. This tour will be held on Saturday October 10 at 1:00 PM, starting and ending at the Central Moravian Church’s Old Chapel, and will last approximately 90 minutes. Participants should expect to walk some steps, up to God’s Acre and around the historic campus. Cost is $10 per person, children under 18 are free. The tour will be led by scholars Dr. Katie Faull (Moravian University) and Dr. Scott Gordon (Lehigh University). Click here for more information, or to book your ticket.
