Wesley Church part of this important ministry since the 1970s
Bethlehem Emergency Sheltering is a faith-based partnership that provides care and hospitality for the homeless in our community. Overnight sheltering, an evening meal and a to-go breakfast for the next day is provided from mid- November through mid-April at Christ UCC, 75 E. Market St., Bethlehem.
Wesley Church has been a part of this important ministry since the 1970s. Currently we cook and serve dinner once per month during the season. In 2021-22 the shelter averaged 60 meals per evening. We are also responsible for set up and clean up, and for managing the shower schedules for the night. The total commitment for each date is five hours, 4-9 p.m.
