Today’s musical offering from our incredible Wesley music ensembles is a gift from our Celebration Ringers (adult bell choir) under the direction of Frank Arbushites. Here, they share a bell choir rendition of what is perhaps the first song I ever learned in church: “Jesus Loves Me.”
The first verse is no doubt familiar to many of you… but I’d like to draw your attention to the words of the final verse:
Jesus loves me still today,
walking with me on my way,
wanting as a friend to give
light and love to all who live.
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.
(United Methodist Hymnal, #191)
Clearly, it’s not just a song for children, church. May you sense the presence of Jesus the risen and living Christ, walking with you on your way, offering you light and love.
And may you remember:
Our God is bigger than coronavirus.
Our vision is bigger than coronavirus, too.
We are people blessing people.
We are Wesley Church.
