Welcome to the Wesley Church Community Garden! Our mission is to provide fresh, nutritious, locally-grown produce to area food pantries, all thanks to the wonderful efforts of our community members. We have participants from both Wesley Church and the wider community, making it a true team effort.
Since we started in 2011, our garden has donated over 7,000 pounds of produce. Recently, we’ve even turned the Wesley Church atrium into a greenhouse by using the abundant sunlight to grow seedlings before planting season!
Each growing season, we work together as a collaborative garden, collectively cultivating our harvest. By joining us, you’ll be part of a team that donates at least 50% of our produce to local food pantries. Twice a week, volunteers transport these donations, along with other non-perishable items, to New Bethany Ministries.
There are many ways to get involved in the Wesley Church Community Garden:
- Collaboratively working on our garden projects
- Assisting with larger garden-wide initiatives
- Joining the watering rotation (especially in late spring and early summer)
- Helping transport donated produce to food pantries

From Pastor Candy…
I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all of you for the celebrations and affirmations you offered regarding the Denman Evangelism Award. You made such a glorious fuss! I give thanks for the opportunity to be in ministry with you, and I’m forever grateful that you allow me to try new things so that…
Our first work day
During our first work day, we accomplished a lot: we pulled weeds, tilled all the beds, and removed the invasive brush that attacked our asparagus patch.
