Section Three

We invite you — and your furry, feathered, and four-legged friends — to join us for pet blessing on Sunday October 1 at 12:30 PM. We’ll gather with our pets outside the front doors of the church to celebrate these special members of our families and to offer prayers of blessing for each of our pets.

During this event, we will also collect donations pet food, pet toys, cat litter, and leashes to benefit the Animal Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley. For more information, please contact Pastor Candy. 

Get ready for Penny Wars! Now announcing the matchup for this year’s edition of Penny Wars:

This year, Christian (Wesley’s Church Council chair) and Ellie (Pastor Candy’s daughter) will compete to raise funds for a great cause! Proceeds from this year’s Penny Wars will be used for ministries of outreach and community engagement. 

Penny Wars is a game of friendly sabotage through donations of coins and cash. Pennies are positive points, and all other coins and cash are negative points. (A quarter, for example, is -25 points, and a $5 bill is -500 points.) Put your pennies in the jar of the competitor you want to win the penny war, and all other donations in the jar of the competitor you want to sabotage. At the end, the competitor with the most points (not necessarily the most money!) will be declared the winner — and the other competitor will get a pie in the face!

The penny jars will be available on Sundays from October 8 through November 5. We’ll announce the winner on Sunday November 12, and celebrate with the pie-in-the-face on Sunday November 19.
