Do you have produce from your garden (whether a garden plot at the church, or your own garden at home) that you’d like to donate to local food pantries? Drop your items off before our produce pickup times (Mondays and Thursdays at 9AM), and we’ll take them to the food pantry for you! Please place your donation items in the large bin outside the church’s front doors. |
A Farewell for North DS Steve Morton
Beginning July 1, our District Superintendent Steve Morton will transition to a new ministry of Leadership Development in our conference office. We are grateful for all that he has given to Wesley Church and to the North District during his years of service here! Join other United Methodist from throughout our North District as we offer recognition and thanks for DS Steve’s work and time with us. The service of farewell will take place on Wednesday June 15 at 6:00 PM at Grace-St. Paul’s UMC in Jim Thorpe (40 Church Road, Jim Thorpe PA).
Graduation Celebration in Worship
Will you or someone in your family be graduating this year? We will celebrate our Wesley graduates in worship on Sunday June 12. Please email Susan Matacavage with the graduate’s name, school, photo, any special awards. All names are due today (Friday, June 3).
“Wesley Learning” Begins June 19
Our church Finance Team is proud to offer a series of learning opportunities this summer, designed especially for seniors and their loved ones. Our first session will take place on Sunday June 19 at 11:15 AM, and will focus on a variety of financial questions. How can you avoid savvy financial scames? What do you need to know about basic financial estate planning? When is the best time to add an adult child to your bank account? We’ll focus on these and other financial matters during this session. Refreshments will be provided, so please RSVP by June 12 to reserve your spot. RSVP by emailing Pastor Candy or contacting the church office (610-865-5715).
Garden Ministry – Plots are still available!
Get your hands in the dirt for our good cause! There are still a few plots left in our Wesley Community Garden. Throughout the growing season, our plots help to provide fresh produce for local food pantries and soup kitchens. For more information or to reserve your plot, contact Lisa Cook or the church office.
Don’t have a green thumb, but want to help out? Contact the church office to be added to the “watering schedule” and help take care of our seedlings.
