This week, together with some of the members of our Sunday morning worship “stream team,” I had the opportunity to participate in a conference-sponsored training webinar on technology and worship. Up to this point, we’ve primarily focused on online worship as a means of keeping us connected during the physical distancing of COVID-tide… and yet, this “Both/And” webinar sought to look far beyond COVID-tide. How will we maintain a digital presence even when COVID mitigation practices are no longer necessary? How can we create an in-person worship service that also connects with those worshipping from home? And how do we tailor our online worship experiences not just to existing members of our congregation, but also to new people as well? We’ll be asking all of these questions in the coming months as we seek to continually shape and enhance our worship together.
