This Lent, Pastor Candy invites you to deepen your faith by discovering the faithful witnesses of those who have come before us in faith. How can you do that? By joining in “Lent Madness!” Lent Madness is an annual Lenten devotional program which features 32 saints in a single-elimination tournament bracket. Lent Madness participants read the stories of these saints, vote online in each daily matchup, and follow the tournament all the way to Holy Week’s “Golden Halo” finale. Lent Madness is a fun way of deepening faith, designed for Christians who want to take their faith seriously — but don’t take themselves too seriously!
Lent Madness is a free resource. Visit the website to learn more about the program and to sign up for regular emails throughout the Lenten season. (This year, Lent Madness is not producing printed “Saintly Scorecards” with information about the saints. The daily emails will be the only means by which to receive these write-ups.) To receive your bracket and participate in Wesley Church’s edition of Lent Madness, please contact Pastor Candy. Fill out your bracket with your predictions and return it to Pastor Candy by Ash Wednesday, February 18. The individual with the highest-scoring bracket will receive a special Lent Madness prize!
This year, we’ll also be engaging in some friendly competition with our neighbors at Edgeboro Moravian Church. Which church will have the most accurate brackets? Only time will tell!
