We are gearing up for the 2017 Backpack Festival scheduled for 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 19.  We are collecting school supplies for elementary school-aged children and new socks and underwear.  Items can be dropped off at Wesley Church, 2540 Center Street, Bethlehem, 18017.

Socks and Underwear Drive

We are collecting socks and underwear for children from kindergarten through 5th grade. They can be any color or style; for boys or girls; sock sizes small and medium; and underwear sizes 4 - 10/12.

Any elementary school-aged child in need of a backpack is welcome to our event!

2017 Partners

Cat Country and 100.7 WLEV are event sponsors helping to spread the word about this worthy cause as well as assist in collecting backpacks. We are pleased to be in partnership with Cumulus Media on this endeavor.

 Mega Radio, will be at the event playing some great music and entertaining the guests.

The City of Bethlehem Fire Department will have two firetrucks and a few firefighters at the event.

The Vision Beauty Academy will be at the event offering children free haircuts!

The Center for Vision Loss will also be on-hand to provide free vision screenings to children 6 months old to adults.

Cops n' Kids will hand out books to every child and bring a police car for the kids to explore.

Lehigh Valley Therapy Dogs will be at the event for the children to enjoy.

Wesley Church will have hundreds of backpacks for elementary school students, but we hope to collect more! Here are some items we need:

New filled and unfilled backpacks can be dropped off at Wesley Church at 2540 Center Street, Bethlehem between the hours of 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday, or on Sundays between 7:30 a.m. – noon.

New school supplies can also be delivered to Wesley Church and they will be stuffed into unfilled backpacks.

Spread the word by posting signs, posters and sharing information on Facebook. We need to let families know that there is help.

New socks (small & medium) and underwear sizes 4 – 10/12 are needed for both boys and girls.
