Sermon Series – “Not So Fast”
During Lent, we often talk about “giving up.” But what would it mean to shift our focus towards “opening up”? This Lent, let’s open ourselves up to the transformation God will work in our lives.

Lenten Sermon Messages
For the Lenten sermons, Pastor Candy will be preaching a series called “Not So Fast,” inviting us to explore a new way of thinking about fasting (inspired by Isaiah 58).
The season of Lent is a time of fasting rather than feasting. But what’s the purpose of all of this fasting? Is it really just about ‘giving something up for Lent’? Or can it be something more… something more meaningful?
God’s people have asked these questions for centuries, and in the Old Testament book of Isaiah, we find some powerful insights.
Week 5: Sunday, March 29 “Fasting from… Apathy” – Isaiah 58:6 .. “It’s not my problem.” Is that how we sometimes view the world’s problems? What can the struggles of God’s people in the past teach us about our relationships with the world?
We’ll spend all of Lent diving deep into that passage.
Lenten Study: The Women Who Knew
For the Lenten Study, we’ll be using the district-wide study, “The Women Who Knew,” focusing on the seven female prophets of the Hebrew tradition (Huldah, Miriam, Deborah, Abigail, Esther, Hannah, and Sarah).
These are incredible (and often overlooked) stories!
