During this difficult time, contributions are down.
Hello Wesley family,
We hope you are managing the difficult circumstances with some level of comfort. These are certainly trying times! As you can imagine, Wesley Church is being impacted like everyone else.
One specific circumstance is most concerning. When a church closes its doors, you must stay away. At the same time, the staff continues to work because our congregation still needs them. At this time, they are spending their hours doing some obvious tasks. Pastors are figuring out ways to meet the needs of congregants, while also planning how to move forward without live services. Musicians are planning for Easter and future services. Staff involved in child and youth ministries are being creative in ways they are connecting to the children. And most obviously, our house cleaning staff is methodically sanitizing the church one room at a time. So, even though our doors are closed to meetings and Sunday services, our staff is still working.
With this said, we can only ask the staff to work as long as we can keep paying them. Without services being held, giving is significantly down and that causes great concern. As of now, we seem ok through the end of March. Beyond that, we will be in very difficult circumstances if giving does not go back to the way it was before we closed our doors.
Therefore, we are coming to you with a request to consider your giving to Wesley. Of course, we know many of you are also living an uncertain financial future, but if you have the means, please do what you can to help the church so we can continue to serve you.
There are two easy ways to give.
One, you could send your checks to the church at 2540 Center Street Bethlehem PA 18017. We will still have limited staff and volunteers checking mail and depositing donations.
Second, and most effective, you could set up online giving. Doing this allows you to make a donation each week with an automatic withdrawal from an account of your choice. The church office highly recommends this method. You can go to the following link to set it up. Find the red GIVE TODAY button and click. It takes just a few minutes.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact Pastor Candy at pastorcandy@wesleychurch.com or Dave Siegfried (SPRC Chair) at dsiegfried84@gmail.com
Thank you so much for considering this delicate matter. Wesley Church and its staff are so appreciative!
God bless you.
