What’s new in Reopening News?
Wesley Church – People Blessing People
What is our current Reopening phase?
We are currently in the “RSVP” phase of our church’s reopening plan. If you plan to attend worship in person, we ask you to RSVP.
Small groups (Bible studies, prayer groups, etc.) may also meet on property with proper mitigation procedures. To add your small group meeting to the church schedule, please contact the church office.
What’s new?
We’re seeing new faces as more and more people RSVP for in-person worship! Recently, we were able to expand our seating capacity in light of revised statewide recommendations. This is cause for hope! We are also reviewing plans for adding another worship service and enhancing the technology for our livestream.
I’m nervous about returning to worship. Have people been following the guidelines?
We are grateful that our worship attendees have been very cooperative and intentional about our mitigation policies and guidelines, including masking and physical distancing. To the best of our knowledge, we have not had any COVID transmission as a result of participation in worship. We encourage you to assess your own risk and comfort level as you consider joining us for in-person worship. If you’re not yet ready to return to in-person services, you can still connect and worship with us! Visit our Facebook page to access the worship livestream, or find the recording later on our church website.
What data does the Reopening Team use in decision-making?
The Reopening Team regularly reviews updates to CDC guidelines, statewide recommendations, rates of community transmission, guidelines from our Annual Conference, and responses from our congregational surveys.
Who serves on the Reopening Team?
Our Reopening Team consists of our church Lay Leader, Council Chair, Chair of SPR, President of the Board of Trustees, Director of Music, Church Administrator, and Lead Pastor. For more information (including contact information), please contact Pastor Candy (pastorcandy@wesleychurch.com).
