When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
when sorrows like sea billows roll;
whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say,
It is well, it is well with my soul.
It is well (it is well) with my soul (with my soul)
it is well, it is well with my soul.
If you’re anything like me, church, your experience of this season of covid-tide leaves you with some good days and some not-so-good days. Fantastic days and fatalistic days. Hopeful days and hopeless days.
In the words of this well-loved hymn, we’re reminded: our hope is not in our current (and ever-changing) circumstances, but in Christ’s constant (and never-changing) love.
So if today is a good day, a day when peace surrounds you like a river, may you be blessed by this musical gift.
And if today is a not-so-good day, a day when sorrows crash into you like one ocean wave after another, may you be encouraged by this musical gift.
Whatever today holds… may you, too say: It is well, it is well with my soul!
(Many thanks to Wesley’s own Director of Bell Choir Frank Arbushites for recording this musical offering!)
It is well, friends. After all:
Our God is bigger than coronavirus.
Our vision is bigger than coronavirus, too.
We are people blessing people.
We are Wesley Church.
Blessings,
Pastor Candy
