About Us

Wesley Church is a church in your neighborhood, dedicated to creating a garden experience that brings the larger Bethlehem community together with a common goal, the garden! Our goal is to donate a minimum one half of the harvest raised by everyone to a local food pantry, making fresh vegetables more available to everyone. Additionally, we would like to raise awareness about the importance of fresh, local produce through educational sessions.
Mission

The mission of the community garden is to provide fresh, nutritionally-rich, and local produce to area food pantries through growing and maintaining a garden that reflects the collective contribution of members of the community in which we live. By fostering collaboration between community members young, old, and of different backgrounds, we together create a certain synergy that can serve as a springboard to deal with larger social concerns. We strive to benefit and educate the most vulnerable members of our community with an eye to food security issues that affect us all. We accomplish this in a healthy, organic way.
Interested in a garden plot? Cost is a one-time annual fee of $30. Gardeners share their bounty with the community by donating 50% of the harvest to feed the hungry.

Volunteers are always needed to tend to the garden and deliver food to area food banks and community centers.

Our garden team recently participated in a group planting project, and our little seeds are currently soaking up the sun in our church atrium. Check out the progress of our seedlings in the photo below. If you’re interested in growing things, consider signing up for a plot in our Wesley Community Garden.
