December 5, 2020
This week, I worked with staff members and volunteers to plan upcoming events for Advent and Christmas. We’re working hard to ensure that any face-to-face events follow guidelines for social distancing — but even our face-to-face planning has been socially distant, too!
This week, for example, I met with Chris Foster face-to-face via Zoom to work out some of the details of our church’s participation in the Bethlehem Emergency Shelter, where we’ll provide the meal on December 14. (Volunteers are still needed by the way — contact Chris Foster at fosfam20mcn@yahoo.com if you’d like to help with shopping, baking, prepping, packing, or serving.)
I also worked with staff member Keranie Whipple face-to-face (or Bitmoji-to-Bitmoji?) via text to plan the final details for our upcoming outdoor Communion and Christmas Carol Sing-Along. (We hope you can join us this Sunday, December 6, at 1:30 PM for a great time of gathering and some fun surprises!)
I’m grateful to have safe and socially-distant ways to connect with our staff and volunteers “face-to-face”!
