On Wednesday February 22, we celebrated our annual observance of Ash Wednesday, the first day of the holy season of Lent.
- 12:30 PM: Service of Palm Burning (outside front doors)
- 7:30 PM: Ash Wednesday Blended Service (sanctuary)
The church labyrinth will also be available for prayerful walking on Ash Wednesday from 1:00 PM to 7:30 PM.

Ash Wednesday Service of Palm Burning
The ashes for “Ash Wednesday” come from palm branches — the palms from last year’s celebration of Palm Sunday. Pastor Candy invites you to participate in the ritual of Palm Burning on Wednesday February 22 at 12:30 PM. We gathered in front of the church’s outer doors (or just inside the front doors, in the case of inclement weather) for a brief service of prayer and scripture, of burning palm leaves and receiving ashes. Pastor Nina Patton-Semerod (Epworth UMC) and Pastor Barbara Lee (Green Pond UMC) joined us for this time of ritual and prayer.
